I’ve been craving summer ever since spring decided not to show up. There’s something about warmer days; the relaxed joie de vivre, the slower pace, the ease — that feels like an invitation to exhale. Summer has a way of nudging us to be everywhere and do everything, as if the season is slipping through our fingers. But what if, instead of trying to do it all, you chose to focus on just one thing?
Hear me out — there’s real power in choosing a single focus with one clear objective in mind. When you stop scattering your energy and instead channel it into something that truly matters to you, everything else starts to fall into place. Priorities sharpen. Decisions become easier. And slowly, without forcing it, your life begins to align around that one intention.
Summer is the perfect time for this. Its natural ease, longer days, and slower pace offer the ideal conditions to reset — to dial in and focus deeply on one thing before the momentum of autumn picks up again.
I’ve chosen to do just that — and interestingly, it happened quite naturally. I’ve been in Port-au-Prince, Haiti since May, and without overthinking it, I found myself settling into a routine that simply felt good. Lighter meals. Daily sessions with a trainer. Long walks. Conversations about wellness with people who care about my health as much as I care about theirs. I’ve cut sugar from about 90% of my diet, embraced 14–16 hour fasts, started swimming again, reading more, and limiting my screen time.
All of these small steps — supported by the people around me and shaped by an environment that nurtures me — have made this my Summer of Wellness. The intention is simple: to ground these habits over the summer so that when I return to Toronto, they’re no longer new routines but natural parts of my life — tools to keep taking care of my mind, body, and soul.
So I’m inviting you to ask yourself: what is the one thing you could choose this summer that would truly nourish you? Not a list of goals. Not a complete reinvention. Just one meaningful shift. The kind that, if nurtured now, could quietly transform how you move through the rest of the year.
I do not know exactly who I will be by the end of this season, but I do know that by choosing to focus on one thing, I am creating the space for real change. Summer doesn’t have to be about doing more. Sometimes, it is about choosing with intention, showing up for yourself, and letting that choice shape you. So this summer, choose one thing and give it the room to grow.
Bisous,
Winy
What I’m listening to:
If you haven’t yet listened to Rachel’s episode on The Impactful Conversations Effect, now is the time. She shares the exact moment she stopped waiting for permission and decided to trust herself. That single decision unlocked her dream career.
It’s raw, honest, and a reminder that sometimes the only thing standing between you and the life you want is the belief that you can.
Art that is inspiring my creativity:
Loving the ceramic work of Mark Goudy. There’s something incredibly meditative about his forms — the fluid, organic shapes feel like they’ve been drawn from nature and reimagined in another dimension. His pieces aren’t just beautiful, they feel alive. I love how the curves and subtle patterns pull you in and invite you to pause. It’s a reminder that design doesn’t need to shout to be powerful. Sometimes, quiet elegance says the most.

I love this for you and I love this idea of honing in on what you want in this season. Taking a page out of your book.
Glad I chanced on your profile (and subscribed), Winy! This piece you wrote resonated.
As much as summer brings slower days and simplest joy, we are not chasing perfect ones, just real ones.
